Choose a location you would like to shoot at or let me suggest a spot

Come with me on a custom, private workshop where I will provide you with one-on-one learning with your camera and equipment in a field setting. In this workshop, you will be able to focus on specific skills and techniques that most interest you. Learn how to use your camera to capture beautiful images. I can teach you a variety of photography techniques such as landscapes, night skies/star trails/milky way, macro, using filters creatively, and more.

Learning in the field can be invaluable as you will be using your own equipment and when it comes time to do it on your own, you will have already done it! I am available for many Northern Colorado locations, with many options near and around Rocky Mountain National Park. I can also travel to other locations in Colorado or other states at additional cost.

Workshop Locations

Rocky Mountain National Park

You can find many things in Rocky Mountain National Park. If you're looking for scenes of lakes with the mountain peaks in the back, fall color, waterfalls, streams, or high altitude tundra. There are a variety of things to photograph. Some of my favorites are Dream Lake, Sprague Lake, Lock Vale, or Lake Haiyaha.

San Juan Mountains

The San Juan's are a beautiful area of Colorado, with many mountain towns to explore like Ouray, Silverton, Telluride, and Ridgway. Come with me on some of the back raods to get photos of Mount Sneffels, Chimney Rock, the Cimmarons, or Dallas Divide. There are a variety of other interesting waterfalls, or the ghost town of Animas Forks, old mining buildings, and of course fall color.

Crested Butte

Long known as the Wildflower Capital of Colorado, come find abundant patches of flowers, majestic peaks, lakes, and amazing trails to hike or bike. Journey over Kebler Pass in the fall for amazing color, and even find some peaks which look like castles!

Moab

The Desert Southwest is an amazing landscape full of red rocks, canyons, amazing rock arch formations, and many other vistas. Though hot in the summer months, there's many things that make it worth braving the heat. Or come earlier in the season for milder temperatures and the snow-covered La Sal Mountains.

Testimonials

I can't say enough great things about Andrew. I've accompanied him on a sunset landscape trip where he taught me a lot about how to get the image right in camera using various settings and filters. He also taught me about proper portraits and showed me in person how different focal lengths create different effects. Though I don't shoot landscape, the skills I learned on that outing, paired with what I learned while he taught me about portraits, I saved so much time and was able to create more of the images I had in mind straight away. He has a wealth of knowledge and is patient and excellent at explaining the way things work and why.

Andrew was great to work with and did such a great job helping me with my photography. I have been taking photos for a while but wanted to dive deeper into landscapes. Andrew helped me to see a few things I was doing wrong and I feel my photography has improved as a result of his teaching. He is easy to work with and will adjust to your skill level. I highly recommend him.
